Many professionals working on the Lilly Lebanon Project live and work in central Indiana. Meet a few team members you’ll see around town.
JENNIFER MASSEY
Eli Lilly Associate VP, Site Head LP1
Jennifer Massey is the head of Lilly’s LP1 site, which will consist of 10 buildings on the north side of the campus.
Since joining Lilly 19 years ago, Massey has held several roles in manufacturing,
including engineering, project management and operations in both the United States and Ireland. Massey’s team will ultimately own the operations of the site after construction is completed. Her current focus is on building a team while preparing systems and processes to ensure manufacturing has a smooth start.
What’s the best thing about your job and/or the project? The people! I love working with great teams, and we are building an excellent one for the site.
Where’s one of the most interesting places you’ve ever worked or visited? I loved living and working in Ireland and my favorite vacation was to Japan. I’m really a homebody at heart and I’m happy wherever my family is.
What do you do when you’re not at work? I love reading and spending time with my husband, kids, and extended family. I’m excited to get more involved in Boone County and recently joined the Boone County Chamber board of directors.
HUGH KELLY
Eli Lilly Associate VP, Site Head LP2
Hugh Kelly is in charge of Lilly’s LP2 site, which will be one building located on the south side of the campus. He has been with the company for
15 years, holding roles in engineering and operations in Ireland, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and Indianapolis. As the site head for LP2, Kelly is building the team and preparing the site to transition from construction into startup of manufacturing operations and beyond.
What’s the best thing about your job and/or the project? Having the opportunity to build a new team and processes from the start. Knowing that we can develop a team, give people career opportunities with Lilly and bring online new manufacturing technologies to make medicine for people around the world from right here in Indiana.
Where’s one of the most interesting places you’ve ever worked or visited? Puerto Rico. I love the beautiful weather, culture and friendly people.
What do you do when you’re not at work? I like to stay active through exercise, playing sports, spending time with my family, and chasing my three kids around.
DEVON REESE
Fluor General Superintendent
Devon Reese was one of the first people to begin working at the LP1 project site last year.
As the site superintendent, Reese was involved with all of the early preparation work, including neighbor outreach, assessing general site conditions and other projects leading up to the groundbreaking. Currently, he manages contractors installing foundations and concrete, as well as serving as the general superintendent in charge of the central utilities building.
What is the best thing about your job and/or the project? The best thing about my job is bringing the years of planning to life. Many people have been dedicated to this project. I get to assign pieces of their plans to our contractors, and then guide and coach them as we see those plans come to life. The fact that this final project will help save lives and improve the quality of life of people around the world is truly amazing.
Where’s one of the most interesting places you’ve ever worked or visited? I worked in Sudan, which was truly a beautiful place. You don’t hear a lot about how beautiful it is. The culture and food were wonderful, too. I’ve been lucky enough to vacation in Vietnam. There is so much history there, and again the food and culture was great.
What do you do when you’re not at work? When I’m off work, I enjoy spending quality time with my son. We go camping, fishing, and exploring as much as we can.
