Fluor is committed to investing in STEM education opportunities for youth. Locally, the Lebanon Project team regularly looks for community outreach opportunities to help promote STEM education and careers in engineering and construction fields.
Harney Elementary Robotics Club
Fluor employees C.J. Salvador and Kyle McGarrity joined Harney Elementary robotics teams in Lebanon to strategize, design and test robots for an upcoming regional robotics competition.
Purdue Engineering Career Fair
Fluor engineers visited Purdue University to speak to undergraduate and graduate students about potential internship, co-op and career opportunities.
Engineering week at Hattie B. Stokes Elementary
As part of Fluor’s annual Engineering Week in February, several LP1 engineers visited fifth graders at Hattie B. Stokes Elementary to explain types of engineering and what engineers do on a job site. The Fluor team led students through a hands-on activity that encouraged using creative and critical thinking skills to build a structure, with limited supplies, to support a mandarin orange.
Construction Zone 2025 Building Trades Expo
Fluor and Eli Lilly and Company sponsored and participated in Construction Zone 2025 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The event, championed by the Central Indianapolis Building and Construction Trades Council provided information and hands-on activities for area high school students interested in construction careers.
