Our LP1 team members are enjoying getting to know the Lebanon community. Here are a couple of faces you might see out and about around town.
Doug Dorval
Vice President of Construction and Fabrication
Doug Dorval started his career as a pipefitter/steam fitter apprentice with Fluor 25 years ago. His experience includes roles from foreman to area manager. He now serves as the construction director/site manager for the project. He joined the team in September 2024 and lives in Lebanon.
Where do you call home?
I consider Edmonton, Alberta Canada home. It’s where I was born and raised.
What is your favorite thing about this community so far?
The weather is definitely milder than home and the people are friendly.
What is your role with the LP1 project?
As the site manager, I’m responsible for all construction and related activities. That means on a day-to-day basis, I might do anything from welcoming new employees in orientation, to doing a site walk and reviewing the construction schedule and progress with the team.
What’s the best thing about your job and/or the project?
With my job, I get to work all over the world and on different types of projects. I’ve worked on everything from mega refinery projects and carbon capture environmental projects to now constructing the largest pharmaceutical facility built at one time to help people. It’s very rewarding.
Where’s one of the most interesting locations you’ve ever worked or visited?
I would have to say Kazakhstan in Central Asia. It was the largest project of its time. I was there for seven years and the people were amazing to work with.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I enjoy hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling.
Erin Tang
Director of Construction Support and Manager of the LP1 Intern Program
Erin Tang joined Fluor as an intern in June 2007, accepting a full-time position immediately after graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor of science in construction management. Over the course of her career, she has served in a variety of roles. She joined the Lebanon Project team as a director of construction support in August 2023.
Where do you call home?
I have been all over with Fluor, so for me, home is wherever I’m working and where my family lives. Right now, that is in Zionsville.
What is your favorite thing about this community so far?
Everyone is so nice and friendly. They are eager to learn about our project and what’s coming next.
What is your role with the LP1 project?
I support the construction of the Peptide building. I coordinate building plans and address needs that might come up. I also serve as the Lebanon Project intern director. I love working with students – providing experiential learning opportunities and exposing students to what life is like outside of college.
What’s the best thing about your job and/or the project?
The people by far. I love our team and I enjoy all of the personalities. People make the project. I grew up in Indiana and to see a project like this come to the state is amazing. It is really cool to see the investment and the path forward for the area. I’m proud to be involved with a project that is bringing high tech, good paying jobs here.
Where’s one of the most interesting locations you’ve ever worked or visited?
I’d have to say Sakhalin Island, Russia. It was a very remote, isolated and unpopulated area of the world.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I enjoy spending time with my daughter. I’m also a bit of a foodie, along with a few of my LP1 coworkers. We enjoy finding new and exciting places to eat in the
Indianapolis area.
